Liverpool don’t get a euro when the player they have invested heavily in all the way from the academy and the first team from 2016 walks out of Anfield as a free agent. It was therefore not surprising that the club makes a financial demand on Real Madrid, when they need the right-back at least two weeks before the end of his contract.

Sounds fair and reasonable from an English point of view, but according to the Daily Telegraph, the Real management has ignored the demand and is asking for Alexander-Arnold to be released without any form of compensation.
Real Madrid have already committed to large expenses for the “free agent” player. According to various Spanish media, the La Liga giant pays around 20 euros in sign-on fees to the 26-year-old and 15 million euros in annual salary.
