This player was sought after by several clubs, but in the end, Madrid have decided not to sell him at the request of Xabi Alonso
Real Madrid have made a final decision on Dani Ceballos’ future: the Andalusian midfielder will not leave the club this transfer window unless they receive an offer of at least €20 million – a sum that is considered unlikely in Valdebebas.

Ceballos’ statements caused concern
The player’s recent comments during his holiday in Sevilla caused some commotion at the club. Ceballos, who hails from Utrera, expressed longing for his time at Betis and hinted at a possible retrospective to the Andalusian club. This was not well received among the Madrid supporters, especially since he had not had a formal conversation with the club’s sports management about his situation.
Xabi Alonso wants to keep him
This conversation has now taken place. Both Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez have informed him that he is part of the plans under the new coach, Xabi Alonso, who wants to keep him for the upcoming season. Ceballos will return to training on August 4, when the team starts preparations for the 2025/2026 season.
The club has made it clear that they will only consider a sale if a club makes a satisfactory financial offer. So far, Betis, which was the most interested party, has made it clear that they are not willing to pay the requested sum.
Case Closed – For Now
Thus, Ceballos will have to follow the new coach’s instructions and fight for a place in Alonso’s starting line-up. At Real Madrid, there is no longer any doubt: he will stay – at least for now. Now it is up to the player himself to make the further decision.
