There are reports from Spain that Ruben Amorim does not like. Manchester United are going to sell players on a large scale, where “everyone” is potentially for sale. Except for Bruno Fernandes. When the reports from the Spanish media concern Real Madrid’s interest in the United captain, there is a frown of concern on Amorim’s face.

At a press conference on Monday, the Manchester United manager was asked about the link between the La Liga giant and Fernandes.

“It’s not going to happen,” the United manager begins, according to Sky Sports.

Then Amorim is asked why a 30-year-old should choose to spend perhaps the last years of his career at a club that is not close to topping its own league.

“That is what will be the challenge. I want Bruno to stay here. We want to win the Premier League again and we want the best players. He is still so “young” because he plays 55 games every season… He’s the player we want, and he’s not going anywhere,” Amorim continues.

When Amorim sees that there are still doubts about whether Fernandes chooses to stay on, it comes:

“We have full control of the situation. I feel that he is happy to be here. He knows what we want to do,” says Amorim.

Women tend to be skeptical when men say “full control”. We are also not entirely reassured by Amorim’s assurances that Fernandes will not open up for an “offer he cannot refuse” from Real Madrid, if it comes.
