It is thinning out with Norwegian influence in Danish football, we have at times had the national team manager (Per Mathias-Høgmo who is now relevant back in Molde), the head coach of Denmark’s biggest club FC Copenhagen (Ståle Solbakken who is now the national team manager for Norway) and Liverpool legend Stig Inge Bjørnebye who is the sports director of the Danish football club AGF Aarhus.
This summer, Stig Inge Bjørnebye’s time as sports director of the Danish football club AGF will be over.
On the club’s website, he makes sure to thank everyone: “Four seasons with some fantastically exciting challenges, each in its own way, but all in all a memorable and developing journey that I value highly in my football career.
AGF is making steady and sustainable progress, and I look forward to following the development in every match as a dedicated supporter. Towards more titles, attractive sales and European games in the new stadium, preferably sooner!
I would like to thank all the players for their sacrificial loyalty to the club’s values and to AGF’s “style of play” Hold on, boys!. You are the culture at the extreme, and the result of a great effort from a united and great club.
Thanks to Uwe and all employees for their detailed approach and broad knowledge.
Thank you to Jacob, Lars and the board for an open and honest working environment, and for your courage and goals! You will reach them all!
Thanks to the academy with all the coaches, staff and players. It’s long-term work, so remember that intrinsic motivation is the most durable.
Thank you to the scouts, the administration and all the volunteers who facilitate everything that happens on the field.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported the team in the matches. I have always been humbled by how massive and strong you are. Best!
I have enjoyed my time in AGF, and am proud to be a part of you!
Finally, I would like to wish my good colleague CV, all the best in his new role.
AGF Bjørnebye will be replaced by football director Carsten V. Jensen.
Bjørnebye has been at the club for four years.
– I would like to give a big and warm thank you to Stig for a great effort for AGF. Personally, I have greatly appreciated our cooperation and Stig’s loyalty and decency. Stig leaves the club organizationally in a better place than when we started, and I wish him all the best on his future journey, says general manager Jacob Nielsen of AGF.
