On Monday, local newspaper Cronicle Live reported Newcastle had given an ultimatum, while the club is keeping the door ajar for Alexander Isak and participation in the Premier League start. According to The Atheltic, the Swede himself has walked out the exit door and closed it for good.

No serious offers, no transfer. Cronicle Live, meanwhile, states that £130 million plus bonuses could be enough for a deal. Until then, the door is again open for Isak to participate in training for the Premier League start against Aston Villa. This was Monday.

The Athletic reports that it is highly doubtful Isak will be in action for the Premier League game on Saturday. The English media claims an enraged player (over being denied a transfer to Liverpool) considers his career with the Magpies to be over, determined that he will never represent Newcastle again – even though he is still at the club after the transfer window closes.

With a contract run until 2028, this process is starting to smell really bad.
