They both have pasts at Manchester United, they both left the Premier League giant to applause from United supporters, who were anything but impressed. Now it’s time for the reunion of Mempis Depay and Jesse Lingard at Brazilian Corinthians. The two shared the match venue 31 times during the 2015-16 season at Old Trafford and have maintained a close friendship ever since.

Depay has become a big profile in Brazil since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2024, scoring 19 goals in 73 appearances and scoring the winning goal in the Copa do Brasil final against Vasco da Gama. Lingard donned the Corinthians shirt this month after 65 appearances and 18 goals in the South Korean league.

Although the transfer represents a high-profile addition for Corinthians, Lingard’s financial package is surprisingly modest compared to other stars at the club. R7 Esportes claims the verbal agreement reached with the Englishman is 100,000 euros per month. The difference is most notable compared to buddy Memphis Depay, who reportedly earns around 980,000 euros per month, almost 10 times more.
