TEAMtalk reports that sources close to Manchester City have revealed the club’s stance on a potential sale of Erling Haaland, while Real Madrid are circling in the background amid a performance crisis and a dilemma over manager Xabi Alonso’s future.

Los Blancos manager Alonso is under serious pressure. The 2-1 defeat at home to City on Wednesday has put him in further danger of being sacked. The LaLiga giants have superstar strikers such as Vinícius Jr, Kylian Mbappé and Rodrygo in their squad, but they are keen to add a new central striker.
Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabéu, but with his contract extending until 2034, luring him away from the Etihad could prove to be an extremely difficult task.
Manchester City safe amid Haaland speculation
Manchester City seem to be convinced that Haaland is not at a moment where he is looking to make a switch to Madrid – and that he will remain with Pep Guardiola into the final season of his reign at the Etihad.
Barcelona have also been linked with him, and they are also on the hunt for a new striker as they look for a successor to Robert Lewandowski, who is now 37 years old.
However, sources also believe that Barcelona are not in a strong enough position to lure him away at this stage.
Everything points to Haaland remaining at Manchester City for the moment, especially if Guardiola stays for another two seasons, according to his contract.
“Tell me a club that it wouldn’t be a dream to have Erling Haaland? I understand that it is a dream for Barcelona to have him. If he wasn’t with us, it would also be a dream for City,” Guardiola said in October.
