Wolves a possible destination?
De Rossi has been waiting for another opportunity after being sacked by Roma due to a difficult start to the 2024/25 season, but now it looks like a move to Premier League-struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers could be on the horizon.
A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Wolves have held preliminary talks with De Rossi through intermediaries, with a view to a change of manager in the summer.
Vitor Pereira’s team is currently in 17th place in the Premier League table, 12 points above the relegation zone with eight wins from a possible 30 games, yesterday Jørgen Strand Larsen delivered a great win over West Ham and ensured a better atmosphere at Molineux Stadium.
It is said that Wolves management is “disappointed” with the team’s performance this season and that the Chinese ownership is “dissatisfied” considering the investments over the last two years.
At least it won’t be boring!
De Rossi open for stays abroad
Last month, De Rossi gave several hints about his future:
“I would like to train abroad and I have improved a foreign language,” he said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I try to stay informed and follow both from home and on visits to see the structures and pace of play abroad. I’m very fascinated by other football cultures. I have spent the time improving a language I did not speak very well, and I hope it will be useful one day.
“I hope I don’t have so much free time anymore. England? It’s not about where or what league, but about the fact that it’s a serious project with serious people who want to go on a journey together because they see something in me.
De Rossi also has strong ties to England, as most of his wife’s family lives there.
