On Friday at home at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini was given a breather after winning 3 – 0 over Pisa.

After the game, Roma is in 6th place in Serie A, but as La Gazzetta dello Sport writes, only the top four and Champions League qualification is good enough.

The crisis is definitely not over and Gasperini is still on thin ice.

Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has now been put under heavy scrutiny, and contract negotiations with as many as five players have been frozen. – The alarm went off after last Sunday’s humiliating 5-2 loss away to Inter. The blow sent Roma down to sixth place in the table, a place they still hold even after Friday’s win.

Gasperini’s future at the Stadio Olimpico rests on one thing: results in the final sprint of the season.

The Champions League is the big goal, but the weakness in form is clear. Three defeats in the last five league games have allowed rivals such as Como and Juventus to run away from them in the battle for European tickets.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Gasperini is not the only one in the spotlight. The club’s owners have also set their sights on several of the most experienced players – including Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante.

Both have contracts until 2027, but according to the newspaper, all talks have been put on hold while the club considers the transfer strategy for next season.

The same goes for Paulo Dybala, Zeki Celik and Stephan El Shaarawy. The trio have expiring contracts at the end of the season, and all indications are that they could be on their way away from Roma in the summer.

As for Lorenzo Pellegrini, there have been preliminary talks with his people, but according to Gazzetta, there is far from agreement.

There were demonstrations against both Roma and Gasperini at Friday’s game against Pisa, but the shouting and complaining became less as the goals started to flow in the right direction.
