Robert Lewandowski will continue as the Barcelona attack’s mainstay next season after dismissing rumours of a summer departure.

The experienced striker had his best season so far in Catalonia when the 36-year-old reached 101 goals in 147 games over three seasons.

The
2024/25 season was his most prolific in Spain with 27 league goals and 42 goals in total – only beaten by Kylian Mbappé in the battle for the European Golden Boot.
But as he approaches the age of 37, speculation surfaced that the club could consider selling him.
Lewandowski rejects exit rumours
Lewandowski’s decision not to play for Poland in the World Cup qualifiers in June caused controversy that ended with the resignation of national team coach Michal Probierz.
In an interview with German Bild, Lewandowski emphasized that he has no plans to leave Barcelona:
“I have won over 30 titles in my career. But I’m ready for more. This is not a topic for me. I’ll stay here next season. Right now, Barcelona is the only thing I’m thinking about. Our team will be even better next season.”
Future Saudi transfer on the horizon?
According to Mundo Deportivo, Saudi Pro League clubs are preparing to make a bid for Lewandowski in 2026, as an alternative to his extension option at Barcelona.
No action is planned until then, as both player and club continuously assess his level of performance. But there is a future scenario on the table.
Waiting for Barcelona decision
There are no formal talks taking place as of now, but negotiations could start in January if Barcelona choose not to offer him a contract extension. Lewandowski’s current deal runs until June 2026, with an option for a further year if he maintains his level of play.

The situation shows that the Saudi Pro League is keeping an eye on one of the world’s most prolific strikers, while Lewandowski is currently fully focused on Barcelona.
