The world’s best and second best players were not included when the men’s and women’s national teams of the year were named during Fifa’s The Best gala. The corrupt football organization has surely not received sufficient payment from Manchester City, Norway, Real Madrid or France to give the award to those who really deserve it.
In the men’s team, stars such as Erling Braut Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Raphinha were scrapped.

Fifa’s The Best gala was held on Tuesday night, where Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé and Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmati were awarded as the world’s best players in 2025. – On FIfa’s Instagram pages you can see the sad facts.
At the same time, several other awards were handed out during the evening, in addition to the team of the year being selected on both the men’s and women’s sides.
In the men’s team, stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Raphinha and Mohamed Salah were passed over. The same applied to the Swedish duo Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres, who were among the nominees. The men’s team was dominated by PSG, with six players, after the team won the Champions League and reached the final of the Club World Cup.

On the women’s side, seven players from Spain and four players from England were selected. The teams met in the European Championship final this summer. In addition, Arsenal faced Barcelona in the Champions League final. Five Swedish players were nominated: Nathalie Björn, Magdalena Eriksson, Filippa Angeldahl, Stina Blackstenius and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.
