Scott McTominay and Kevin De Bruyne know each other well after representing their respective parts of Manchester for a number of years.
The somewhat surprising news came a couple of days ago that Liverpool want Kevin De Bruyne, who announced a few days ago that he is done at Manchester City as soon as his contract expires at the end of June.
Now, there are reports that the former Manchester United midfielder could play a crucial role in luring Kevin De Bruyne to Napoli.

After winning 16 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League with Manchester City, De Bruyne announced in April that he will leave the club.
Since the announcement, several clubs have been linked with the Belgian star, with City’s league rivals Liverpool and Serie A club Napoli considered the biggest candidates.
But before De Bruyne decides on the next step in his already legendary career, he should perhaps take the advice of McTominay, who himself became a Napoli player at the start of the season.

McTominay’s new life in Naples
After a transfer worth £25.7 million last summer, the former United player has found new life in Italy.
The midfielder has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting talents this season, scoring 11 goals in 31 Serie A appearances and playing a key role in Napoli’s quest for league title.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, both McTominay and his girlfriend Cam Reading have fallen for the Italian club and are grateful that they made the move away from Manchester.
“Things were difficult in Manchester,” the Scottish player said in an interview with The Athletic.
“I didn’t really know what was going on. But in Naples, you immediately understand the passion of the fans and the quality of the league.”
“People have to be careful about saying that Italy or Spain can’t measure up to the Premier League. Physically and tactically, I’ve had some of my toughest games here.”
A convincing sales pitch for De Bruyne?
It is clear that Napoli have not only given McTominay a new football life but also greatly improved his personal life with his family. Both of these factors could play a big role in Napoli’s bid to secure De Bruyne.
Unless De Bruyne signs a short-term contract to take part in the upcoming Club World Cup, it looks like he only has four games left for City. This means that he will soon have to make a choice about his future employer.
Will McTominay’s experience and enthusiasm for Napoli be enough to persuade him? The answer may come soon.
