“We have full control”. This was part of Ruben Amorim’s answer to the question of whether Bruno Fernandes will stay at Old Trafford, following rumours that Real Madrid had put the United captain on their wish list. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown is anything but confident that Fernandes will stay, calling it “a catastrophic blow” to lose Fernandes.
Manchester United set a £90 million value on the United captain before the summer transfer window.

“It’s hard to say what Man United will do in the transfer market,” the former United chief scout told Football Insider.
“I didn’t expect them to be open to offers for players like Kobbie Mainoo and Garnacho, but those are the decisions the club has made. Now the spotlight is on Bruno Fernandes. There have been very few positives about Man United this season, but he is one of them,” Brown continues.
“From what I hear, they are extremely reluctant to let him go under any circumstances because it would be a disastrous blow to this team. He’s been so important to them, I think even this £90 million price tag I’ve seen reported wouldn’t be enough.
-How much does that money give you now if you want to invest it in a few positions? I would suggest that losing Bruno Fernandes would do more damage than it would be possible to repair with the money he would bring in,” Brown said.
Which is not entirely confident that Bruno Fernandes will lead the United team next season.
