Former Real Madrid and national team stopper Ezequiel Garay is present at the Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona, where several well-known names from the world of football follow developments in the sport closely.
Garay had his most high-profile period at Real Madrid, where he played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at the start of the Portuguese’s time at the club. He was part of the Real Madrid squad from 2009 to 2011, before later landing key roles at Benfica, Valencia and Zenit, among others. On the national team, he represented Argentina alongside Lionel Messi in several major championships.
After a serious knee injury put an end to his football career, Garay has chosen a new direction in the sport. He has now opened his own paddle center in the Madrid region, more specifically in Arroyomolinos, where he is involved as an owner and investor. The facility is among the larger in the area and has been built with a focus on year-round operation, modern facilities and further development of padel as a grassroots and competitive sport.
Garay’s presence during the Premier Padel Finals underlines how padel continues to attract former top players – and how he even now has Madrid as a base for his new sports project.
