Liverpool have received a clear message from Newcastle to pay a record sum in the Premier League for Alexander Isak, or walk away. The Swede is not happy with this approach, and is in limbo between the club that has given him superstardom and the reigning Premier League champions. For Liverpool, it’s “just” a matter of pushing the limit a few solid steps north at the next bid, and Isak could be on his way to Anfield. For Liverpool’s second campaign, it’s not about the money.

Nathan Collins has become super hot in the last week, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham flashing the Brentford centre-back, reports the Daily Mail.

Collins joined Brentford from Wolverhampton in 2023 and was named captain earlier this summer. He currently has a contract that lasts until the summer of 2029. In recent years, he has made 78 appearances for Brentford, while also making 30 senior appearances for Ireland. The English newspaper describes the advance of Liverpool and their rivals as a “shock”.

With Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen, captain Christian Nørgaard to Arsenal and Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, while Yoane Wissa is being hunted intensely by Newcastle, it is not sales revenue that Brentford need now, it is players who can match last season’s 10th place in the Premier League.

The English newspaper claims that Brentford are not at all interested in selling their newly appointed captain, Collins. To put it bluntly, this could be more demanding than Isak signing. It is also unlikely that the 24-year-old, who has just been awarded the captain’s armband, is in a hurry to leave Brentford.
