There has been a bit of “on and off” for the talks between Roma and Manchester United about Joshua Zirkzee! – Now they are obviously mostly on.
Sky Sport Italia reports that Roma have opened talks about Joshua Zirkzee with Manchester United and that “Negotiations are ongoing, there is a daily dialogue”

Roma are expected to reshape their attacking department in the January transfer window, as the Giallorossi seem keen to send Evan Ferguson back to Brighton to sign a new striker.
Zirkzee is Rome’s top goal
As Football Italia reported earlier this month, Manchester United striker Zirkzee is the primary name on the Giallorossi’s agenda, and the possible signing of the Dutch striker has already been approved by Gian Piero Gasperini.
“There is only one name and we know that everyone agrees on it,” confirmed Sky Sport journalist Paolo Assogna from Trigoria on Tuesday.
“Roma need a player who can be put straight in. Zirkzee knows Italian football well, and he would be ready to take to the pitch. He won’t need to understand Italian football, so all the attention is on him.”
Zirkzee has struggled for game time this season, scoring just one goal in nine appearances.
Roma have relied on Ferguson and Artem Dovbyk as centre-forwards, but when Paulo Dybala is injury-free, Gasperini usually prefers to use him as a false nine.
“It’s clear that the coach wants him right away,” Assogna continued.
“The negotiations are ongoing, there is a daily dialogue between Roma and Manchester United, and those are really the only negotiations that are ongoing.”

Daily dialogue ongoing
“As usual, it’s all about the money,” the reporter continued.
“United want a permanent transfer or a binding purchase clause, Roma want an option to buy linked to certain goals. I’m not saying it’s optimism, which would be excessive, but it’s attention from Manchester United.”
Zirkzee has already played for Bologna and Parma in Serie A, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in 57 appearances in Italy’s top flight.
