We don’t bother to check with the FIFA rankings and forget that we haven’t been to the World Cup or the European Championships since… for a very long time and rather find joy in the Nations League where we are the kings of the hill.
After beating both Slovenia and Kazakhstan in recent days, we top our group and that will of course benefit national team manager Ståle Solbakken!
Norway secured promotion to the A division in the Nations League this weekend and then celebrated properly in Oslo. The Norwegian Football Association will receive around NOK 17.5 million for the promotion, and that national team manager Ståle Solbakken will receive just over one million kroner of that sum as a bonus.

“According to Ståle Solbakken’s employment contract, he has a contractual bonus of one million kroner for group victory in the Nations League,” NFF Secretary General Karl-Petter Løken says to VG.
The players, on the other hand, are expected to share 30 percent of the increased revenue, that is about 5.1 million.
Solbakken has previously stated that he has a base salary of around six million kroner, while he also receives around five million kroner in bonus upon promotion to the championship.
