An angry Jose Mourinho stated after Sunday’s Süper Lig match that his team was the only one who would win, he didn’t bother to talk about the refereeing decisions – and that the series was decided before it started. What triggered the frustrated and sloppy comments was that the “jerk” Solskjaer had once again outsmarted him in the match arena.
Solskjaer summed up the game, in which Besiktas away from home had put in the necessary 0-1 score for victory: “Did we play well today? No!, but there were players who ran until they got cramps. We saw the players running and fighting together.”

The victory didn’t just come from the players. A countermove to Mourinho’s substitution move, stopped Fenerbahce.
Mourinho sent on veteran Edin Dzeko in the 58th minute to create a new dynamic in the Fenerbahce attack with Besiktas in a 0-1 lead. Just a few minutes later, Solskjaer sent German defender Felix Uduokhai onto the pitch. The special thing was that the 27-year-old has been out with injury for two months and only had one training session with the team before Sunday’s game.
The medical team had advised Solskjaer to use Uduokhai for a maximum of 20 minutes. With Mourinho’s move, Solskjaer took the chance to use the German for 40 minutes.
“The medical staff gave me 15 to 20 minutes, but I knew I needed Felix when Dzeko came on the pitch,” the Besiktas coach said after the game.

The tactical plan worked perfectly.
“I want to send a special congratulations to him (Uduokhai),” Solskjaer added.
Jose Mourinho fielded a stronger squad, but had to see himself beaten by Solskjaer’s tactical moves and coaching. Sorry, Jose, it wasn’t the referees who gave you the loss.
