Galatasaray won the Süper Lig with nine points ahead of Mourinho and Fenerbahce. Solskjaer showed by inflicting Gala’s only loss of the season that Besiktas will be to be reckoned with next season, but this assumes that the club can give the “Eagle of the North” some crucial reinforcements. Galatasaray have started at a pace in the transfer market that does not bode well for Besiktas.

Still young Leroy Sane has been clapped in as a Galatasaray player, according to The Guardian there is another German national team player who is on his way to the Gala part of Istanbul.

Ilkay Gündogan extended his contract at the end of the season, but could still be on his way away from Manchester City as a free agent this summer. According to The Guardian, Galatasaray are on the verge of signing the central midfielder who has lifted the biggest trophies with City. The Turkish club reportedly inquired about Gündogan’s availability as early as this winter, but then City were not willing to let the German go.

The English newspaper claims City are now open to letting the 34-year-old go, Gündogan himself is said to be ready to move to Istanbul.

For Besiktas, this means that one of the world’s former best midfielders with pace still in his legs and an experience few can match, Galatasaray significantly reinforces. At Besiktas, there is still only talk of “star signing”, for Solskjaer, Gala’s big investment in the transfer market could present problems.
