Alexander Sørloth is at the top of the surfing wave in 2026 with match-deciding goals in buckets and buckets for Atletico Madrid. After three goals in a 4-1 win against Club Brugge in the Champions League, the super striker dryly stated: “I have great players around me, I just have to make sure of the finish”. Sørloth and Antoine Griezmann are two complementary types of players, with the Frenchman often delivering the creative passes that end with Sørloth’s clinical finishing. Last season, the duo was highlighted in the Spanish media as one of the best attacking combinations in La Liga.

At 34, Antoine Grirezmann’s career is naturally on the wane, but the Frenchman last season extended his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027. This season, Griez stands with an impressive 12 goals and two assists in 35 games and is on his own. Earlier in the week, it was reported that the French striker is still in negotiations with a new club.
Griezmann has previously stated that he wants to end his career in MLS. Now L’Équipe reports that there are only a few details missing before a deal between Griezmann and Orlando City falls into place. This has been settled. The Americans are eager to bring him in before the end of the MLS transfer window (March 26), but the 34-year-old’s camp says he is unlikely to move before the end of the European season.
