One can rightly discuss who is Norway’s best striker at the moment! Manchester City star Erling Braut Haaland, who Transfermarkt believes is worth 180 euros. – While the same body has valued Atlético Madrid’s super reserve Alexander Sørloth at a pitiful 25 million euros.
Something is really not right! – Julian Alvarez, who scores fewer goals than Alexander Sørloth, is valued by Transfermarkt at €100 million.
Alexander Sørloth has this season, despite little playing time, landed in 4th place on La Liga’s top scorers list with 20 goals, while Julian Alvarez, who plays as much as he wants and is the favorite of manager Diego Simeone, only has 17 goals.
Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone, in confirming his interest in Julian Alvarez from Liverpool, says that he plans to build the attack around the Argentine superstar next season as well. The status quo means that Alexander Sørloth will also start on the bench next season unless he finds his way to a new club.

Simeone on Liverpool’s interest in Alvarez
Florian Wirtz is said to be all but ready for Liverpool in a British record transfer, but the Reds are not planning to stop there.
Liverpool are also said to be willing to invest heavily in a new striker this summer, with Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Julian Alvarez (Atlético Madrid) among the most mentioned candidates.
Now, Alvarez’s manager confirms Liverpool’s interest, but at the same time stresses that the Madrid club have no intention of selling the star player they signed for £82 million last summer.
- “Everything is logical. I can’t imagine any other scenario. Julian is 25 years old, an exceptional player – hungry, enthusiastic, humble, hardworking and goal-threatening. How can one not wish for him?”
- “Barcelona, PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool… Of course, the top clubs have to want him. And for us Atlético fans, this should be a source of pride. Why? Because he’s ours,” Diego Simeone told La Nacional.
Finally, Simeone makes it very clear that they have no plans to sell:
- “Since he is ours, we must take care of him. We need to help him feel happy. How does he become happy? By winning. To achieve that, we all have to give 110 percent – not just for him, but for the whole team,” the Atlético coach concludes.
