It was therefore with pleasure that we heard from the English media last week that Gerrard stood as the top candidate to take over the management of Rangers. This is exactly the job Gerrard’s coaching career needs, we thought.

Sky Sports has checked with its sources and claims on Thursday that Gerrard will not be Rangers coach. And we who saw this job as the “perfect” one for Gerrard who needs to rise as a coach.

This means that “Stevie is entering his sixth month without a coaching job.
