Luis Enrique has given Barcelona and PSG the Champions League title ten years apart. In both 2015 and 2025, the Spaniard was named the world’s best coach. Internally at Manchester United, Enrique is seen as a very strong candidate to lead Man Utd, in the last week there have been reports that the Red Devils are active in securing one of the market’s big coaching guns, but at the same time there are reports ticking in that signal this is to no avail.

Miguel Delaney, chief football correspondent at The Independent, gave a major update on Enrique to United this week in his newsletter, confirming United’s interest: “Sources at Manchester United say that Luis Enrique is the name that is being mentioned more and more often, and the club is supposedly willing to make a serious attempt to secure him. One might wonder why he would leave PSG now, but there is growing speculation that he will leave in the summer, and he has long expressed a desire to work in the Premier League.”

Sully has shown to have good sources, on Thursday evening it is reported that Luis Enrique has been in positive talks with PSG in recent days about a contract extension, and that he is doing well at the French capital club.

It is added that the sources report Carrick is now seriously considered to lead the club next season as well.
