A delighted Pep Guardiola announced on Sunday: “We are back!, after waltzing over Ipswich away from home. Manchester City have halted their plunge in the Premier League table, now six points separate them from second place and the extreme dip in form in the Champions League is now (hopefully) a one-off. In recent weeks, City have gone to great lengths to bring in the reinforcement at the top that will give Haaland support and the attacking machine more efficiency.
Manager Pep Guardiola has been given more money to spend this winter than any other Premier League club and WILL sign Bundesliga striker Omar Marmoush. Of course, Eintracht Frankfurt have taken note of that. So after a “no, danke” in the first round, they have accepted a higher bid for Marmoush, who is so good that he is about to challenge Mohamed Salah for the Egyptian national team. The 25-year-old has an impressive 20 goals and 14 assists in 26 games so far this season.
According to Sky Sport, Marmoush will fly to Manchester on Monday to complete the transfer, the announcement will come on Wednesday at the latest.
According to the English media, Manchester City eventually agreed to pay €75 million plus another €5 million in bonuses. Not only did the reigning Premier League champions increase by around €25 million from their initial bid, Marmoush secures between €16 million and €17 million in annual wages.
At Eintracht, the striker earns around €2 million in annual salary (capology), so the Egyptian makes a wild salary jump of around €14 million by donning the City shirt.
