Last week, we presented the predictions of a supercomputer/Ace Odds. It was based on the first eight Premier League rounds, the published fixture schedule for the entire 2025/26 season, and calculated the probability of which clubs will finish in the top 20 at the end of the season. Manchester United had won two games in a row for the first time in Ruben Amorim’s tenure as United manager. Liverpool had several sour losses in a row, but still stood as the reigning champions and signed players to well over four hundred million pounds. After round nine, the supercomputer is already on the wrong track.
“As long as the football is round, anything can happen”. On Saturday, United sunk Brighton, a club both Ten Hag and Amorim have struggled with, a third win in a row was a fact. In Brentford, arch-rivals Liverpool suffered another painful loss, the fourth in a row.

So where did the supercomputer place Liverpool, based on the first eight games? Second, five points behind Arsenal as Premier League champions. The forecast for Manchester United after the win against Liverpool was 5th place and a Europa League ticket. After a third win in a row and Solskjaer’s flashback, United now suddenly find themselves in 4th place in the Premier League with more points than Liverpool.

The supercomputer calculated that Man Utd will take the Europa League ticket. We think the Red Devils are not content with the second-highest UEFA league.
