When Chelsea go to a “minputt” like Strasbourg to replace Enzo Maresca in a short five days, it seems odd, but considering that Chelsea owner BlueCo also owns the Ligue 1 club, there is a certain logic to it all. However, the decision is not well received on the other side of the English Channel. Here, Strasbourg supporters have thrown themselves into loud protests.
The French supporters have long expressed their dissatisfaction with the ownership, including with critical banners that want the ownership out, and which are against several club owners. The loss of their successful manager Rosenior was the straw that breaks the supporters’ cup.

According to fans, Rosenior’s move to Chelsea is “humiliating”, as Strasbourg is thus inferior to the London club, the criticism goes.
“Liam Rosenior’s transfer marks another humiliating step in Racing’s submission to Chelsea,” reads a statement from the Fédération Supporters RCS.
The Fédération Supporters RCS adds that the supporters’ group wants to coordinate closely with the other active Strasbourg supporters’ groups and wants to “take the next step”.
“Every extra new antics from Marc Keller (club president), every extra minute he spends at the helm of the club, is an insult to the enormous work that was done before 2023 (…). It’s your turn to go. Now, it is written on from the supporters’ organization.
