There is a big gap at the level between the Eliteserien and the Premier League and even bigger between Rosenborg and Manchester City. Sverre Nypan, who is leaving big money on Lerkendal, will be prepared for the world’s toughest league next season.

The 18-year-old, who is considered one of Norway’s greatest midfield talents, signed a contract with Manchester City on July 17 until the summer of 2030.

Sverre Nypan is loaned out – great interest from several clubs

Sverre Nypan will be loaned out by Manchester City in the coming season, but his destination has not yet been decided.

This is confirmed by his father Arne Nypan in an interview with Nettavisen. “It’s part of the plan, and it has been all along. We are looking for a level between the Eliteserien and the Premier League, and that has been a key element of our strategy.”

Girona not the only option
Spanish club Girona – who belong to the same City Group as Manchester City – have been widely mentioned as a possible loan club.

But according to Nypan’s father, it is far from the only interested club:

“Girona is of course a good option, but there are seven or eight clubs that have expressed their interest and are showing great enthusiasm.

“We haven’t made a final decision yet, there are still some small details, but it’s just around the corner,” reveals Arne Nypan.

The RBK star with an impressive CV
The 18-year-old great talent from Trøndelag made his breakthrough in Rosenborg in 2022. Since then, he has recorded 14 goals and 11 assists in 70 games for the Trønders.

Now a new and exciting chapter awaits in the career of one of Norway’s greatest football talents. With so many clubs interested, it seems that Sverre Nypan has a good chance of finding a loan that is perfect for his further development.

What now?
The decision on the loan stay is expected to be made shortly. No matter where he ends up, Norwegian football fans will follow the young star’s development with great interest.

Can Sverre Nypan manage to take the step from the Eliteserien to a high European level? Time will tell!
