Once upon a time, Sweden was Norway’s big brother in the world of football. They had better club teams, leagues and national teams. The Swedes participated in the major championships, while our national team players were relegated to the TV screen when the World Cup and European Championships were kicked off. On Sunday, his little brother qualified for the World Championships for the first time in 28 years. Fresh Swedish national team coach Graham Potter was of course asked the big “Norway question”.
At Monday’s press conference, journalists highlighted Norway’s 1-4 overrun of Italy at San Siro and a direct World Cup ticket. The former Chelsea coach came from a 4-1 loss to Switzerland in the Englishman’s debut match as national team coach, how Norway performs, was clearly totally uninteresting.

We are used to national team coaches who treat their good neighbours to success, Graham Potter did not show this side on Monday.
“To be honest, and I say this with the utmost respect, I don’t care about their success. I respect that, but I’m the Swedish national team coach. I’m focused on our players and our team. We have enough to think about and focus on ourselves, says Potter according to Fotbollskanalen.
For Graham Potter, who lost 4-1 to Switzerland, it doesn’t exactly help that Sweden’s “little brother” beats Italy at the San Siro by the same figures.
