Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos ended an incredible career with a season for Sevilla. Ramos the bull. The player who led Real Madrid to a slew of titles. The player who “neutralized” Mo Salah in the Champions League final and secured victory for Real. Then came the breakup in 2021, where a crying Ramos thought the offer of a one-year extension was still on the table, which it didn’t. Now the 38-year-old wants to return to the club he has given large parts of his career to.
Eder Militao’s ugly injury last week was the last thing Ancelotti and Real Madrid needed. Now the warning lights are flashing and the La Liga giant is on the hunt for a short-term replacement in central defence. Sergio Ramos is without a club and was directly linked to the club. For Real Madrid, this would mean a signing they could make outside of the transfer window, without a transfer fee, with a player who knows the club like his own family and who we saw in the Sevilla shirt last season, still in top form.

According to the Spanish TV program El Chiringuito, Ramos offered his football services to the Real management. Everything was in place for a happy reunion, but the Spanish media reports Ramos’ Real friends declined. – But not everyone was against, manager Carlo Ancelotti, who just missed out on Serio Ramos when he joined the club in 2021, sees the 38-year-old as a brilliant solution.
It has not made Real Madrid will not reconsider their attitude towards a Sergio Ramos return!
Real Madrid are in desperate need of a central defender, with injuries to Eder Militao, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni and Jacobo Ramon meaning Carlo Ancelotti only has three options available: Antonio Rudiger, Raul Asencio and the discarded Jesus Vallejo. A new addition is needed as soon as possible, but it is certain that January will be the earliest opportunity for anyone to join, now that clubless Sergio Ramos is no longer an option.
However, Sergio Ramos will not join the club he spent 16 years at, and Marca reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will not reconsider his stance on the matter.
Ramos has offered himself to Real Madrid, while club icon Guti Hernandez also asked the 38-year-old to make a sensational return. It has also been reported that Ancelotti would welcome the reunion, but ultimately Perez has the final say – and his answer is a definite no.
Sergio Ramos has won both the European Championship (twice) and the World Cup with Spain, the Champions League four times, one of them the last time Carlo Ancelotti was Real Madrid manager. La Liga five times and Ligue 1 twice with Paris Saint-Germain.
This season is not going well for Real Madrid. – Second place in La Liga so far and lackluster efforts in the Champions League. Much of the blame can be placed on French superstar Kylian Mbappe who has upset the balance in the team. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez did everything possible to bring in Mbappe, including a €150 million signing bonus. – The one who is left with the black box is Carlo Ancelotti.
