It was probably some Liverpool supporters who got morning tea in their throats on Tuesday. “Their” Jürgen Klopp was reported to have agreed with the club on a coaching job. Not for just any club owners either, it was the Serie A club with the same owners as city rival Everton.

Jürgen Klopp has barely warmed up in his suit shirt as Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull, but various sources believe that signals have been sent that the German is unhappy and wants to return to the pitch with control of one team. According to La Stampa, Roma now have an agreement in place with Jürgen Klopp to take over the coaching job from Claudio Ranieri. The iconic Liverpool coach is said to have accepted the offer on Sunday, the newspaper reported.

Not many hours later, Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, steps out to lower the rumour.

“It’s just nonsense. It becomes tiring to have to comment on such rumours all the time,” Klopp’s agent told German Bild.

Borussia Dortmund supporters still haven’t gotten over the fact that “their” Klopp took the job overseeing big rival RB Leipzig. Had Klopp walked away from what he had told Liverpool supporters in 2024, that this was probably his last club coaching job, to lead the club to the owners who recently bought Everton, then it would probably have made new waves.
