Manchester United have to sell to buy. Bryan Mbeumo is still undergoing a medical test in Manchester on Saturday, United have negotiated a four-instalment repayment, it is reported. Now there is finally movement in the Marcus Rashford process, where the exit of the 27-year-old will ease the wage budget and open the door to new signings.
It has been a protracted affair with Rashford. Although Villa wanted a permanent transfer, the Premier League club withdrew their option to buy when Rashford had steered into the “dream club” outside of United, Barcelona. The La Liga club is struggling with its financial challenges, so for a while it looked like the whole transfer went down the drain. Now the speed bumps will be flattened out.
