Rodrygo, who is on the Real Madrid sales list, is likely to end up in the Premier League as the race to sign the Brazilian international enters a new phase.

Rodrygo at the Bernabéu more uncertain than ever, even though manager Xabi Alonso wants him to continue. There is a growing queue of clubs making tempting offers for a player who is under contract until 2028.

Arsenal were initially interested in Rodrygo, but they have since been followed by Liverpool, who according to AS have a big advantage. Bayern Munich are also willing to spend large sums of money on the player.

Massive bid on the way
Liverpool is according to the Spanish source ready to “bid heavily” for Rodrygo.

Arne Slot’s side have already shattered their transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, as well as completing deals for Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong. The Reds’ spending shows no signs of stopping, with an ambitious bid for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak expected, and now this bold bid for Rodrygo.

Liverpool’s summer signings:

Player from payment
Florian Wirtz Bayer Leverkusen €117.5 million
Milos Kerkez Bournemouth €47
million Jeremie Frimpong Bayer Leverkusen €40 million
Armin Pecsi Puskas Akademia €1.78 million
Freddie Woodman Preston Free Transfer

According to AS, Liverpool will “do everything in their power to make it happen”.

Slot’s team has already taken a first concrete step. Super agent Pini Zahavi has been tasked with going to Madrid to initiate contact with the club. This is expected to happen in the coming days.

To get the deal done, an offer of around 100 million euros is needed. This aligns with Rodrygo’s estimated transfer value (ETV) of €98 million.

Arsenal are also keeping an eye on the striker, as Mikel Arteta wants more depth and quality on the wings. However, it is emphasized that the Emirates club is “a little further behind” in the game.

And then there’s Bayern Munich. A willingness from the Bavarian club to offer €100 million has been confirmed, but they prefer to sign Liverpool’s Luis Díaz. A bid of €70 million has already been made for the Colombian international, but Liverpool turned it down.

What does Rodrygo want?
Rodrygo first and foremost wants to stay at Real Madrid. However, he will not oppose a possible sale.

He is expected to discuss his future with the club in the coming weeks, and Alonso will tell him that his role at the Bernabéu will increasingly be as a reserve.

If he leaves the club, a move to the Premier League is his preferred option, giving Liverpool and Arsenal an advantage in the match.
