A year ago, Tottenham brought in Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich. The French jewel was promised a great future, but was very unhappy with Vincent Kompany’s lack of playing time. There were broad smiles at the London club, as Tel chose them over a handful of other clubs. The 20-year-old got 13 Premier League games, the confidence was answered with occasionally convincing play and 2 goals and 2 assists. Tottenham pressed the buy option button in the summer, but already six months later, it is reported that the Frenchman wants to leave.
Under Thomas Frank, the striker has been given 607 minutes in eighteen games. The 20-year-old has given Spurs 3 goals in the Premier League, the last against Bournemouth in the 3-2 loss.

According to the BBC , Tel’s representatives are working to get a rental agreement into the contract. Earlier in the season, Tel was left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad, but in December he replaced Dominic Solanke. However, this is not enough for the Frenchman with the ambition to play himself relevant for France’s World Cup squad.
The English media claim Tottenham are not interested in sending Tel out of the Spurs squad, as Tottenham have already sold Brennan Johnson in this transfer window. With a Premier League season that once again threatens to end up just north of the relegation battle, it is rather doubtful that the 20-year-old will get his way.
