It sent some shockwaves, especially in Dortmund, when Jürgen Klopp emerged as the new head of football for the Red Bull group from 2025. In other words, one of Borussia Dortmund’s fiercest rivals, RB Leipzig, in the portfolio. Since then, Klopp has been constantly linked to coaching jobs at the biggest national teams or clubs. Before the New Year, there was such a big punch in the media that the Red Bull boss came out and said Klopp was happy in the job and not at all interested in the coaching job – yet. In the last week, the angle has changed, now the RB boss is out to deny they are dissatisfied with Klopp’s deliveries as Head of Global Soccer.
There were probably many supporters at Real Madrid, who quacked when Austrian Salzburger Nachrichten, in the heart of Red Bull country, claimed the RB group will not stand in the way if Jürgen Klopp wants to return to the coaching role this summer. According to the media, Red Bull believes that the sporting development under Klopp has so far not been sufficient, and therefore Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner is mentioned as a possible replacement.

Klopp has been continuously linked to Real Madrid for the past six months, if the legendary coach is vacant in the summer, the timing is perfect.
In an interview withSky Sports , Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff comes out to puncture this story.
“It’s pure nonsense and completely unfounded. We are extremely happy with Jürgen Klopp’s work. He invests heavily in continuous communication with our coaches and sporting directors and develops our Red Bull football philosophy sustainably. We are convinced that he is the right man for the job. That’s where we focus all our energy and attention,” Mintzlaff said.
The Real Madrid management and supporters hear what the Red Bull boss is saying, but when Klopp’s employer is almost overzealous to say how happy they and Klopp are, it probably creates a bit of suspicion in Madrid. The dream of Jürgen Klopp leading Real Madrid is still alive.
