Isak has been pushing for a parting ways from Newcastle this summer after asking not to be included on the club’s pre-season trip to Asia.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Liverpool had an initial bid rejected on Friday for the 25-year-old, who has been training alone at his former club Real Sociedad.
Liverpool’s offer has been reported to be £110 million, which is significantly below Newcastle’s estimate. Now Isak may be forced to stay at St James’ Park if new reports are to be believed.
According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool’s first bid could well be their last, due to the Magpies’ reluctance to sell the Swede.
He wrote on X: “Liverpool have no plans, as it stands, to make a new bid for Alexander Isak during this transfer period.”
“The nature of Newcastle’s rejection means that Liverpool will NOT follow up with another offer. It is considered useless unless Newcastle change their stance and contact Liverpool.”
“The offer that was rejected was for £110 million. Contract terms with Isak were not a problem,” he added.
Although they are thousands of miles away, all the talk on Newcastle’s pre-season trip has revolved around the striker, and winger Anthony Gordon spoke about the situation in a new interview from Seoul.

“I understand what Alex is going through,” he told The Mail.
“What I can say, for my part, is that it has been an absolute pleasure to be out of the transfer speculation one summer! It’s the first time in about three years! It’s been so easy, so mentally refreshing.”
“That’s why I understand what Alex is going through. I feel sorry for him. He’s going to go through a lot. The club is going through a lot. I hope everyone gets what they want in the end,” he added.
