When Trent Alexander-Arnold threw away his shirt after the match-winning goal against Leicester and three more points towards the Premier League title, everyone realized how much this meant to the player who was back after an ankle injury and massive criticism from his own supporters for not extending with the club, but heading towards exit without income for the club.

This was the 26-year-old’s 350th game in the red shirt, but looks to be a strong attraction for Real Madrid. Mo Salah agreed an extension with Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk the same. After the game, the Liverpool captain was asked if he is pushing for Alexander-Arnold to make the “right decision”.

Van Dijk himself has just come out of this process himself, and knows it is not due to pressure from teammates.

“He’s already under a lot of pressure, so there’s no reason for me to put him in his place,” Van Dijk said when asked if he had spoken to Trent about his future.
