Barcelona seem to have secured a player who would be a perfect fit at Real Madrid.

The transfer market has once again written a new chapter in the eternal rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona. This time it is Jonathan Tah, Bayer Leverkusen’s solid defender, who is in danger of ending up in the Catalan capital next season. The German centre-back, previously wanted by Madrid’s sporting management, is very close to a move to the eternal rival – a move that is sure to provoke reactions in the Whites.

Jonathan Tah very close to Barcelona

The 29-year-old Tah has been a key player in Xabi Alonso’s surprising Leverkusen squad, showing defensive reliability and leadership qualities that have not gone unnoticed in Europe. His name has been on the radar of several top clubs, and everything indicates that Barcelona have won the battle for his signature. The Catalan club sees in him an immediate response to the defensive challenges that have plagued the team this season.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are missing out on the opportunity to strengthen their defence with a player who would fit perfectly into their system. Although Tah’s profile was assessed positively at Madrid, it seems that Valdebebas’ priorities have shifted towards other areas of the pitch – ultimately paving the way for a move to their rivals. An operation that leaves a bitter taste in Chamartín because they did not bet more decisively.

At Camp Nou, the arrival of the Germans is seen as a strategic move that not only strengthens the defence, but also constitutes a symbolic blow to their biggest rival. Barcelona will thus secure a significant reinforcement, while Real Madrid will now have to look for new alternatives to their defence in the summer transfer window.
