The English left winger, who has three Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy with Manchester City, had the following update on social media after it became clear the spring season was ruined.
- Didn’t want the season to end like this, but that’s football, shattered. The surgery is done and now all focus is on getting back in shape. I know for sure that I will come back in better shape, stronger and better than before. The support I’ve received since I came to this incredible club has meant everything to me. The staff, my teammates and especially the fans have been amazing and I absolutely love representing this club. I will support the guys all the way and do everything I can to get back as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the love, it means so much. UTFT 💙💙💙

Everton are planning to buy the 30-year-old midfielder from Manchester City despite the injury.
