Takehiro Tomiyasu is the player Mikel Arteta has repeatedly emphasized is important to the Arsenal squad. In February, the Japanese international unfortunately disappeared with a knee injury, which will probably keep him out of the match arena for the rest of the year. With a total of six minutes on the pitch last season, player and club have agreed that the time has come to go their separate ways.
On Friday, Arsenal confirmed that Tomi’s contract will be terminated with immediate effect. The full-back/centre-back remains with 84 appearances in the Gunners shirt since his transfer from Bologna in 2021.
