Manchester United had to stretch to 75 million euros+ for Benjamin Sesko. This creates expectations that the 22-year-old will directly step in as the first striker and deliver what the United strikers have failed to do for far too many years. If you ask striker legends Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, a 22-year-old without an environment with experienced strikers around him has little prerequisites to carry the main responsibility at the top (said the same when Hojlund was brought in for the job in 2023). Now United stands with Sesko, Hojlund and Zirkzee. None of the strikers have cracked the code in the Premier League, the question is whether United have to take advantage of an opportunity that “comes in from the right”.
We always take it with a grain of salt when The Sun’s sources share their claims with the world, but in the case of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, we listen.

The Everton striker has been linked to Manchester United earlier this spring, but the name has disappeared in the noise from Gyökeres, Osimhen, Ollie Watkins and Sesko.
The 28-year-old is ready as a free agent after his exit from Everton in the summer. The English striker has struggled with injuries in some seasons, but has 239 Premier League appearances and allowed 57 goals and 18 assists, considering he has played for what has been one of the Premier League’s weaker clubs in recent years.
Now the English ink reports that Calvert-Lewin is very interested in signing for Manchester United. The striker is said to have broken off cooperation with the agents, now he himself will be responsible for any negotiations.
F7: Solskjaer has solid reinforcement in place from the Premier League
Calvert-Lewin should be happy with the role of backup in the battle for playing time, it is reported.
Free agent. Experienced in the world’s toughest league, but still younger than 30. Has shown he can deliver in the Premier League (under the right working conditions). Accepts the role of number 2, 3 in the playtime queue. Sounds like a solution for United at Hojlund’s exit.
