The Merengue team is considering a signing that could end the Ballon d’Or winner’s era at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid are constantly working to shape the squad for next season, and one name that has resurfaced strongly in the club’s offices is Nico Paz. The young Argentine talent, who is not currently part of the white team, could return to the Santiago Bernabéu for a sum of around €9 million – an opportunity neither the club nor Xabi Alonso (the likely future coach) will miss.

Luka Modric has won the Champions League six times with Real Madrid and La Liga four times in addition to a number of cups.
According to DefensaCentral, however, this operation will have consequences in the dressing room, and one name that could be touched on is none other than Luka Modric. The Croatian, who will soon turn 40, remains a respected figure at the club, but his future participation is uncertain. If Nico Paz returns, the sporting management considers it necessary to thin out the midfield – with Modric as the main candidate to make way for the Argentine.
Nico Paz was sold to Italian side Como last summer for €6 million.
Nico Paz can “retire” Luka Modric
Although Xabi Alonso has not yet officially signed his contract, he is already actively involved in the planning of the new project. The Bayer Leverkusen coach contributes with his vision of possible reinforcements and necessary departures to make a qualitative leap without destroying the club’s financial balance.
The White management does not want to spend too much in the transfer window and keeps a low profile in their movements to avoid pushing up the prices of their target players. Nevertheless, there are positions that need to be strengthened, and it all depends on how the negotiations develop and what opportunities arise.
The potential return of Nico Paz is not only exciting because of his potential, but also because it could mark the end of an era. Luka Modric’s future at the club is more uncertain than ever.
