With the exception of scoring against Arsenal in his debut game, scoring and assisting against Liverpool in the FA Cup, and his fantastic assist against Chelsea… Antony has been a huge disappointment. With Erik Ten Hag out, who has protected his favourite from the Ajax era, there are few, if any, who believe Antony will stick around through the next two transfer windows. What should be worth noting, however, is that Antony has that goes in his favor with Ruben Amorim in place.
He is young. He works hard. He’s talented. Manchester United have invested around £85 million in Antony, who as of November has a market price of €20 million. In Ruben Amorim’s training, Antony is used as a wing-back, which could mean that the 24-year-old gets a completely new start.

His quick, hard-working and occasionally unbelievable skills lend themselves to playing wing-back in Amorim’s system, so this is something to keep an eye on when things get going with Ruben Amorim at the helm.
If Amorim gets the Brazilian going, the market price will increase in line with the level rise. Antony is unlikely to reach £85 million over the course of his career, but Amorim could reduce Man United’s losses considerably the day Antony is put up for sale. The first task will be to get Antony to earn his salary.
