Sporting have sold players for a wild 150 million euros in 2025. The latest sale ended in bitter conflict with its own superstar. Now the next transfer saga begins, but this time the Sporting management does not intend to give in when the buying club is going in and haggling over the price, or playing press for exit.

Captain Morten Hjulmand has been linked to the biggest Premier League clubs this summer, but with a buyout clause of 80 million euros, even English clubs have remained calm. Juventus have nevertheless decided to bet on Hjulmand leading the midfield of the old lady next season.

Juventus’ interest in the 26-year-old Danish international is indisputable. He is the club’s top priority to bring in the central midfield, but there is a big puzzle that must first be solved before Morten Hjulmand can put his boot in Turin.

Sporting president Frederico Varandas is apparently determined not to jack down the price.

With such large player sales and with a Champions League ticket, Sporting is in no way under pressure on finances, there will also be an extra bonus waved to Morten Hjulmand if he drops suitors and continues at the club for another season.

Juventus are in any case dependent on selling players to sign Hjulmand, but the Sporting management has made it clear that there is no point in making bids of 50, or 60 million euros.
