The discussion is now that we are at the end of November and Norway is qualified for the World Cup next summer over about who is the world’s best striker. Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe are fantastic, but it doesn’t hold up against the Norwegian goal machine Erling Braut Haaland.

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to secure Haaland in a transfer worth €200 million, but that will probably require a chat with dad and former Manchester City defender Alf Inge Håland.

Erling Haaland is bound by a long-term contract with Manchester City, but he is a top target for a European giant, a club that in its time did its best to humiliate him and with that incurred his father’s wrath.

Haaland has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 19 goals in 15 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions. After he scored his 99th goal in his 108th season. Premier League game against Liverpool, Haaland is fast approaching a hundred goals in the English top flight, and he is on his way to doing it in record time.

Arguably the best striker in the world, the Norwegian sensation, has been linked with a shocking move to European champions Paris Saint-Germain. According to Fichajes, PSG have made Haaland a priority transfer for the summer transfer window.

PSG won a historic treble under Luis Enrique last year and played primarily without a recognized number nine. Nevertheless, reports claim that they are considering a €200 million for Haaland and that PSG are “determined to send a powerful message to the market and regain the media attention they lost with Mbappé’s departure”.

It is said that PSG are “aiming for the most reliable player in the world in the field”, but the chances of completing a mega deal seem slim, as City have no intention of letting their talisman go and consider him “untouchable”.

Although it has previously been suggested that Haaland will move around Europe to play in different leagues, he committed his future to City by signing an impressive long-term contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2034.

Haaland’s history with PSG
In addition, there is the fact that Haaland was widely ridiculed by PSG back in 2020. While playing for Borussia Dortmund, Haaland scored an incredible double against PSG in a Champions League quarter-final.

When PSG turned the game around in the second leg and advanced to the quarter-finals, Neymar teased Haaland by performing his post-goal meditation celebration, and then virtually the entire squad did the same afterwards – both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

Haaland’s father called PSG “classless”, but the striker took it easy and responded in his usual way, telling ESPN: “I think [PSG] really helped me spread meditation to the world and show the whole world that meditation is an important thing, so I’m grateful that they helped me with that.”

Haaland is back in action on Saturday when City travel to Newcastle for a game that kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Pep Guardiola’s men are four points behind Arsenal after 11 games.
