Last Sunday, the world’s best goalkeeper, Donnarumma, had a bad day at work. Four backwards in half an hour of pain, regardless of whether you as a goalkeeper should have been able to save or not. The special thing was that the Italian giant had to see two of the goals put in by friend and teammate Erling Haaland, whom he himself calls “otherworldly”.
Donnarumma and Haaland are two players at Pep Guardiola’s that supporters notice if they are not on the pitch. City started winning after a horrendous start to the season, this happened from September with Donnarumma on the line. Without Haaland, or with a Haaland without his usual goalscoring flair, City are also struggling. We have heard how the two giants have become friends, Donnarumma says it was actually the Norwegian light bulb that pushed him to sign for City.

Donnarumma told Sky Sports about Haaland and his move to City: “He’s a fantastic guy, so calm, and he loves his family and being with them. We found the tone. There is a synergy there, a natural feeling. Even when we played against each other, we kept in touch, and after the games we even talked to each other often. Then I got the opportunity to come here, he wrote to me. He pushed hard for me to come, and I really appreciate him for that. He’s really a good friend – and it’s good that I’m playing with him, because it’s so hard to be against him! He is extraterrestrial!”
