Last season and the year 2025 voted as the winner of the Ballon d’Or award, this season 12 goals and 7 assists in 27 games. It’s been a while since Barcelona struggled with young Ousmane Dembélé after the giant transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, where the La Liga club chose to pick up the Frenchman with the big ego in his apartment every morning to make it to training, make sure that his diet was not controlled by his daily form – and that bedtimes are adhered to. Barcelona unfortunately didn’t get anything special out of Dembélé until the last two seasons, but one thing is for sure: It’s never calm and harmonious around the 28-year-old.

Several French media outlets have reported on possible complications with a possible contract extension at the big club, where there has been trouble between the Ballon d’Or winner, coach Luis Enrique and the administration. The French media loves Dembélé for all the headlines he brings to them, but he himself thinks everything is chill.

“There is no reason not to extend,” Dembélé begins, according to L’Equipe.

But?

“But I’m not the one who makes the decisions. The dialogue about my contract takes place between my agent and the club. I haven’t been responsible for that part since the early start of my career,” says the 28-year-old.

Well. Dembélé himself is happy – as long as PSG gives him the conditions the agent demands. Doesn’t quite sound like a done deal.
