“The development over the past two weeks has been worrying. We are only six points away from the relegation zone, and the trend is negative. That’s why we’ve decided to react now, because we have a responsibility to the club,” says Schalke director Youri Mulder.
Kees van Wonderen was hired in October 2024, after 25 games and an average of 1.2 points, it is over. U23 coach Jakob Fimpel will now be given the responsibility of leading Schalke in the last two games of the season, as the 13th coach since 2020.
