We thought Steven Gerrard was playing his way out of the list of candidates to manage Liverpool after the desert football fade, but in recent weeks the club icon has appeared on the rumour mill as a candidate to replace Arne Slot, if things go straight south. Gerrard has also started talking like a Liverpool manager, with words of wisdom in connection with the Salah/Slot controversy. Now Gerrard says directly that he is ready, if the Liverpool management calls.

“I will be brutally honest and say that I will help in every possible way at any time. I want to help them with everything,” Gerrard begins, according to the Liverpool Echo.

“I don’t want Arne Slot to lose his job. I want him to straighten up and make Liverpool great again. I was on the move four or five months ago when Liverpool won the league. I’m a Liverpool fan and I want the best for the club, but if Liverpool need me in any role at any time, I’m there for them,” Gerrard said.

There should be no doubt about this, Steven Gerrard is done ruining his career in the fringe leagues, he is mentally ready for the biggest job – to manage his Liverpool.
