We pay tribute to Ryan Reynolds and Hollywood buddy for three promotions in a row, now “only” one division below the Premier League, but it is manager Phil Parkinson who has led the Wrexham squad to 136 wins in 221 games. A former Wrexham player, however, believes the successful manager can quickly be pushed out if there is no similar success in the Championship. Then a Manchester United legend is ready to do the rest of the job.

“I think he (Carrick) did very well in his first season when he took over. I think they were at the bottom of the table when he took over, and then they got to the playoffs. Then they’ve kind of stagnated, they haven’t really pressed, and I think that since Middlesbrough is such a big club, their level of expectation is maybe a little higher than anyone else. I think it was a bit harsh that he was sacked, but I think it’s just because of the size of the club and the expectations of Middlesbrough,” the former Wrexham player begins.

“I think Wrexham would be a good match and they can be ruthless. Football is relentless, and money is a big driving factor in that. He would certainly be a good match. He likes to play expansive football, and he knows that level. He knows the Championship, he’s been there for three seasons, so he’d probably be a good fit, and I think they (Reynolds and partner) would be ruthless with Parkinson’s (if he fails),” Jansen concluded.
Then we’ll see.
