Sævar Magnusson has played in the Lyngby shirt since 2021 and is now one of the big profiles in the Danish Superliga club. Now there is an announcement of an exit to the Norwegian elite league. Not to Bodø/Glimt, not to Molde, but to the club with compatriot and former Lyngby coach.

It is of course about Brann and coach Freyr Alexandersson. The Icelander is well underway with drilling the Brann players in friendly matches before the start of the season, in the period 2021-24 he was Magnusson’s coach at Lyngby. In January, there was talk that Brann was looking for the Lyngby player, Danish Bold is now asking direct questions about whether there will be a Brann transfer on the versatile Lyngby profile with a contract expiring this summer.

-I’m focusing on Lyngby, and I don’t spend time on what happens this summer. I will do everything I can to make sure we stay in the Superliga,” the 24-year-old Magnusson begins programmatically to Bold.

Is there a chance that you will stay in Lyngby?

“Yes, of course it is, but I don’t know what’s going on,” says the offensive player. We last spoke in January, but now we have agreed that we will only focus on the season, the Icelander continues, before he is asked directly if there will be a reunion with Freyr Alexandersson at Brann.

-I don’t know. Freyr is a fantastic coach, and he has also done fantastic with Lyngby, but I don’t know, says Sævar Magnusson.

Freyr is a fantastic coach.

Magnusson has also noticed that the Eliteserien is a stepping stone into Europe for players from the Danish Superliga, in the summer he can walk out as a free agent. For us, this smells of a very exciting signing for Brann.
